It was a very beautiful hotel

The property is more like a homestay with around six rooms. The rooms are clean and well maintained. The location is good and feels like a home away from home. The lady managing the place is polite and well-behaved. However, during my two-day stay, I faced some issues. The water pressure from the tap was very low, and when the cap was removed, sand particles were coming out with the water. The washroom flush was also not working properly and needs a complete check by a plumber. The geyser was working fine. I would also suggest exploring breakfast options outside in Varanasi, as the local breakfast spots are really awesome. Overall, the stay was decent because of the location and hospitality, but maintenance improvements are needed.

Good budget friendly hotel. Small rooms but comfortable for sleeping. Good hot water supply.

**Title: Horrible Experience - Do Not Stay Here!** **Rating: 1/5** I checked out today from Hotel Hari Kunj in Varanasi, where I stayed from 25-08-2024 to 28-08-2024 (Booking ID: ZPDGOE). My experience was terrible, and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Firstly, there was no one to help us with our luggage when we arrived, even though the hotel is located on the 1st floor, requiring us to climb 32 stairs. This was especially challenging as I was traveling with my elderly parents. Despite requesting an early check-in at 10:00 hrs through the booking.com app, we were only given our rooms at 12:00 hrs. We had booked two identical rooms with balconies, but what we got was not what was advertised. Room 102 was slightly bigger, but the balcony was unusable because the AC unit was installed right behind the balcony door, making it inaccessible. The room was clean, but the bathroom was a disaster. Sand was coming out of the water tap, making it impossible even to wash our faces. When I asked the staff about this, they casually responded, "Ganga mein Pani Jada hai, is liye Balu a raha hai," which is completely unacceptable. The staff was uncooperative and unhelpful throughout our stay. They do not offer room service but gave us a number for an outside restaurant named "Payash." The food from the restaurant was good, but when we asked for plates, spoons, and bowls, one staff member rudely refused, saying they didn't have any spoons available. We stayed for three nights, but the bed linens were never changed, and the rooms and bathrooms were not cleaned until I had to request it multiple times. To make matters worse, there were small rats in the room, and the hotel staff seemed unconcerned about pest control. During our stay, my father fell ill, and when I asked the staff for a doctor, they claimed they didn't know where any doctors were located. We had to go to Ramkrishna Mission's hospital on our own. When we returned, my father was struggling to climb the 32 stairs, and despite three staff members being present, none of them offered any assistance. This was the most disappointing aspect of our stay. To top it all off, when we checked out today, two boys approached us asking for tips, which was completely outrageous given the lack of service we received. Privacy Invasion and Safety Concerns: Our troubles began on the very day we checked in when a staff member named Ishu was caught snooping on my lady friend's room (Room 206) through the backside window. This invasion of privacy was not only distressing but also raised serious safety concerns. The fact that the hotel management's response to this heinous act was to merely paint over the window is both unacceptable and alarming. Despite my attempts to reach out to Fab's central office and speak with a person named Jawed, there was no response or accountability from the hotel staff or management. It's absolutely shocking that such a grave incident went unaddressed and ignored. Restricted Breakfast: The hotel's breakfast policy is nothing short of absurd. Guests are allowed only one paratha per person. This limited offering falls far short of the reasonable expectations one would have for a breakfast service. Inadequate Room Amenities: Inconvenience was the theme of my stay. The landline in my room was consistently out of order, which meant that even for a simple request such as a bottle of water, I had to trudge down three flights of stairs to the reception. This was not only frustrating but also reflected a lack of attention to guest comfort. Unjustified GST Charges: To make matters worse, the hotel charged GST on bottled water. This seemed like an unnecessary and unreasonable practice, leaving me with doubts about the hotel's integrity and transparency in their billing procedures. Inconvenient Location: Adding to the list of grievances, the hotel's location is far from tourist attractions, and the absence of nearby general stores made it difficult to access basic necessities. This location oversight is a major drawback for anyone hoping to explore the local area conveniently. In summary, my stay at this hotel was plagued by a shocking breach of privacy and safety, a stingy breakfast policy, faulty room amenities, questionable billing practices, and an inconvenient location. The complete lack of response and accountability for the privacy invasion was particularly distressing. I strongly advise potential guests to steer clear of this establishment to avoid the multitude of issues I encountered during my stay.
