Ashwem Beach is a peaceful locality preferred by vacationers looking to stay close to nature away from the buzz of city life in Goa. Ashwem Beach is a clean and relatively less-crowded locality in North Goa. Replete with swaying palm trees, this beautiful beach locality is ideal for a peaceful holiday with loved ones where can be enjoyed swimming, sunbathing as well as nature walks through verdant forests. The cherry on the cake is the noise curfew after sunset due to which the only sound audible to anyone is of splashing waves of the Arabian Sea.
A delight for shopping enthusiasts and explorers, Goa is a land of traditional markets and curio shacks that sell everything from beachwear, funky clothes and junk jewelry to bags, handicrafts, antiques, etc. Ashwem Beach though is a less commercial locality and has a limited number of shopping options. However, tourists can find a lot of designer accessories stores and boutiques near Ashwem Beach. The nearest shopping place to it is Laxmi Mini Market, which is just 1.8 km away. For a truly Goan shopping experience, vacationers can head to Anjuna Flea Market and Saturday Night Market in Arpora that are less than 16 km away from Ashwem Beach.
While here, travelers can relish authentic regional preparations like pork vindaloo, mussels rava fry, chicken cafreal and fonna kadi. There are many notable restaurants and cafes in the Ashwem Beach locality that offer these and many more seafood delicacies in an inviting ambience. Green Apple, The Long Bay and Nanu's Restaurant are some of the most preferred restaurants which must be explored on a trip to Ashwem Beach. Further, tourists can find a few international restaurants as well that serve everything from French preparations to typical Indian curries.
Just like the rest of Goa, Ashwem Beach is also synonymous with swimming, sunbathing, surfing, shacks, kaju feni, and the likes. The popular attractions in and around this serene locality are Mandrem Beach, Arambol Beach, Bhumika Devi Temple, Morjai Temple, Morjim Beach and Baga Beach. All these local places of interest are within 10 minutes’ drive from most of the hotels in Ashwem Beach. Tourists can further reserve a day to explore the nearby villages that aptly exemplify traditional Goan charm with the expanse of coconut groves and cultivated fields. For more fun, head to Arambol Beach and partake in the various festivities organized at bars and clubs. The widely popular Vagator Beach, Chapora Fort, Anjuna Beach and Saturday Night Market are within 30 minutes’ drive from Ashwem Beach.
Goa International Airport is the only airport serving the state. Hosting frequent domestic and international flights every day, it is around 52 km from Ashwem Beach. The nearest railhead to Ashwem Beach is Thivim Railway Station (22 km). Visitors can conveniently reach Ashwem Beach locality by booking an online cab or hiring a prepaid taxi. Further, the best way to explore Goa is by renting a bicycle or scooter.
