Located in the heart of Chennai, Periamet is a well-developed residential and commercial area and a prominent leather hub. Owing to the presence of the city’s main railway terminus, a large number of Chennai hotels and lodges have come up in this neighbourhood. Adding to the tourist footfall here is Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, which often hosts national and international level sports events. The area is also home to numerous government offices including that of Greater Chennai Corporation.
Saravana Stores is one of the main shopping centres in the area, selling everything from readymade garments, jewellery and footwear to electronics, groceries, stationary and more. Some of the city’s major shopping malls like Express Avenue (3.7 km), Bergamo Mall (4.1 km), Spencer Plaza Mall (5.2 km) Ampa Skywalk (6.1 km) and Ramee Mall (6.5 km) are also easily accessible from Periamet. Travellers staying at hotels in Periamet, Chennai can enjoy their meals at nearby restaurants, such as Buhari Hotel, Sachin Ka Dhabba, Doveton Café, American Fried Chicken, Hotel Shiva Sagar, Hotel Shanthi, Hotel Sangeetha, Star Chicken Biryani, Royal Restaurant and Swad - The Fusion Kitchen.
Hotels in Periamet make a preferable option for leisure travellers visiting Chennai as they offer easy access to local attractions like Ripon Building and Victoria Public Hall. Other places of tourist interest like St. Andrew’s Church, Government Museum, Victory War Memorial, Fort St. George, Vivekanand House, CSI St. Mary’s Church, Parthasarathy Temple, Semmozhi Poonga, Kamarajar Statue, Dr. MGR Memorial, Anna Memorial and Thousand Lights Mosque are within a 15-minute drive from here.
Periamet is one of the most well-connected localities in the city by both rail and road. A major road passing through this area is Grand Northern Trunk Road (NH 16), which connects to other localities in the northern part of the city and finally meets NH 48 that traverses through six Indian states. Chennai Central is located within the area and Egmore Railway Station is merely 1.3 km away, which makes Periamet hotels a preferable choice for travellers coming to the city by train. Those travelling from within the city can take an EMU train to Chennai Suburban Terminal (MMC), which falls on the West and North Line. The locality is also accessible via Chennai Central metro station that is serviced by both Blue and Green Line. From Chennai International Airport (18.2 km), taxis and auto rickshaws are easily available to travel to Periamet. MTC buses also ply to the area from across the city.
I am a Senior citizen, having stayed in many hotels, and when I stayed in B Zone, a couple of years back, I realised that this hotel was miles superior to its contemporaries. It leaves its rivals in the Hospitality sector far far behind in the classy amenities that it offers. Superb cleanliness..... Place is exceptionally spic and span. Superb furnishing. A pleasing and aesthetic finish to the interiors. Polite and helpful staff. A sumptuous complimentary breakfast that keeps you going till late afternoon. An owner who calls to enquire if you are comfortable. Located in an idyllic, quiet, but sophisticated area . Located in a place where any important office / bank / resturant can be reached in a matter of minutes. And ALL this at a very modest Tariff of Rs 3000 /-. And my each stay seems to be better than the previous one. This is my kind of place, and will ever, ever be my place to go to in Chennai. I wish the marvelous owners all the very best. Your staff are excellent and courteous. Rooms are good
Rooms are clean but there is smoking smell from neighbouring rooms. Located centrally in Royapettah
Not good
⭐ Worst Hotel Experience – FabExpress B Zone ⭐ This was one of the worst hotel stays I have ever experienced. My stay on 21.01.2026 was extremely disappointing. Worst maintenance – the room and premises were poorly maintained. Not clean at all – hygiene standards are unacceptable. Worst staff behavior – rude, unprofessional, and least bothered about guests. Breakfast issue – breakfast was served from outside food, not freshly prepared. The most shocking part: When I asked for idlis, they served two and took one back after serving. This kind of behavior is absolutely unacceptable and insulting to guests. Overall, this hotel lacks basic hospitality, cleanliness, and professionalism. ❌ Do not come here. Do not stay here. I strongly suggest choosing any other hotel instead of FabExpress B Zone. Highly dissatisfied and not recommended at all.
Very poor service no working TV no hot water cattle. No toiletries Room was full of dirt...very old and tore bedsheet. Ac was also not working. Never expected this type of room service from Fab hotel platform. They have shown balcony on website but not provided. Fab hotel Authority should take action against this property owner. They will ruin name of Fab...overall pathetic stay
I am writing to express my serious dissatisfaction with my recent booking at your hotel. Upon arrival, I was shocked by the condition of the room, provided to me. The room was dirty, unhygienic and nowhere near the standard advertised or expressed by the hotel. This was completely unacceptable. Because of these conditions, I had no choice but to check out immediately. I did not stay the night, as it was impossible to do so in such an environment. I paid for a service that was not delivered, and this experience has caused significant inconvenience and frustration.
My stay at the Fab Hotel yesterday was extremely disappointing. The rooms were in a very bad condition—dirty, poorly maintained, and far below the basic standards I expected. This is honestly the worst room I have stayed in so far. The cleanliness, hygiene, and overall upkeep were unacceptable for a hotel claiming to offer quality service. I hope the management takes this seriously and improves the condition of the rooms immediately.. very horrifying rooms ever been .odd smells, liquid marks on bed .non responsive customer care dumps.
Worst experience ever
Worst rooms...damp and with moulds. Low ceiling, felt claustrophobic. The time we went some renovation was going on and we had to go to another property as they requested. Customer service is zero.
