About Alwarpet

Alwarpet is one of the poshest localities in Chennai, serving as home to renowned personalities like DMK president, M. K. Stalin and actor, Kamal Hassan. The residences of Chennai’s most important luminaries – the state’s late Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa and Tamil superstar, Rajinikanth – are also situated right next to this upscale neighbourhood in the heart of the city. How to Reach Alwarpet

Chennai International Airport is around 15 km away from Alwarpet; taxis and private cabs are easily available from the airport to reach Chennai hotels. It takes around 20 minutes to reach the locality from the main railheads in the city, Chennai Central (5 km) and Egmore Railway Station (7 km). The area is also serviced by a number of MTC buses that halt at Alwarpet Bus Stop. MRTS trains can be taken to reach Alwarpet via Mandaveli railway station (1.5 km) while those who prefer to travel by metro can get down at Teynampet (1.3 km) or Nandanam (1.7 km) station on the Blue Line. Auto-rickshaws and taxis are available from all major transit hubs and localities to travel to Alwarpet.
