Vandalur, located in southwest Chennai, has a dual importance as a tourist hub as well as corporate centre. While holidaymakers book hotels in Chennai situated in the neighbourhood for easy access to Vandalur Zoo, businesspersons pick them for proximity to Gateway IT Park, which is home to the offices of Redington Gulf FZE, Accenture and many other companies.
Those looking for good shopping places near hotels in Vandalur, Chennai can visit Gold Souk Grande mall. The under-construction shopping centre already has a significant number of operational stores and restaurants. If you don’t get what you want here, then there are loads of markets in Chennai you can visit, including Pondy Bazaar, Ritchie Street, Sowcarpet Market and Burma Bazaar. Equally amazing is the number of shopping malls in Chennai, among which the most popular ones include Express Avenue, Phoenix Marketcity, Ampa Skywalk, Citi Centre, Spencer Plaza and Forum Vijaya Mall. The dining-out scenario in Vandalur is a little brighter, as the locality is home to several restaurants. Dindigul Thalappakatti Restaurant, Naga, The French Loaf, Sangeetha, Madeena, Brown House and Ambal Hotel are the most popular ones.
Vandalur Zoo, also known as Arignar Ann Zoological Park, is the biggest attraction in the locality. This over 600-hectare zoo houses animals like crocodiles, storks, vultures, spoonbills, zebra, wolves, tigers, sambhar deer, lions, leopards, hippopotamus, gaurs and Asian elephants. Other prominent tourist attractions to visit while staying at Vandalur hotels are Marina Beach, Santhome Cathedral, Semmozhi Poonga, Government Museum, Thousand Lights Mosque, Kapaleeswarar Temple, Guindy National Park and Elliot’s Beach. Further, there are numerous amusement parks in Chennai as well for you to beat the heat and have some fun, including Kishkinta (6.2 km).
Thanks to the tourist and corporate significance of the locality, hotels in Vandalur are well connected to all parts of the city via public transport. Chennai International Airport is 14.5 km from the locality, and the distance can be covered in around 30 minutes. You can travel between the neighbourhood and air transit hub via buses and auto-rickshaws or hire a private cab. Vandalur station on the suburban railway network of the city connects it to the airport; you can book a ticket till Tirusulam station. Chennai Central railway station, 32.5 km by road, can also be reached via local trains from Vandalur. National Highway 32 and Tamil Nadu State Highways 48, 110 and 121 are the important roads linking the locality to other parts of the state.
We came here to attend a friend's wedding. The rooms were well maintained with good ventilation and the surrounding was also very calm and peaceful. The management was also very good and they were very down to earth people catering to our utmost needs. I appreciate their efforts in providing the best customer service. Wishing them all the best and would highly recommend this place to all my friends and family.
Good location, worth for money. Hotel reception is very helpful
TriStar Residency is located at a very convenient location and the service they provided was top class. We had bulk booked rooms for a marriage and the staff helped us with all the coordinations. They even were very flexible with a few last minute additional room request that helped us organise the event easily.
Food was excellent and their managers in restaurant were very helpful in my Hotel. Due to fast, my wife wanted some different fruits , which were not on table. Same was provided promptly without Any extra charge. Good variety of breads were available for vegetarians also, which was helpful as some of our family members are strictly vegetarian
Near to Tambaram Station. Rooms are compact and good. People in reception were kind to give one hour more to checkout. Bathroom was spacious but with heightened steps.
The rooms are small, but definitely worth the money. I stayed here with my friend while attending his marriage, and we found the room to be comfortable and well-maintained. The space is compact yet looks great, making it suitable for small families and anyone on a budget. However, the only drawback is that you need to go a bit inside from the main road to reach the property.
Am writing to express my disappointment with my recent stay at your hotel. The air conditioning was ineffective despite being set to 18°C. There was no bottled water, towels were missing on arrival, and the room had mosquitoes with an empty repellent. The bed linen was also in poor condition. We had to request basic essentials multiple times. The unresponsive service and lack of basic hospitality made the experience frustrating. For the price charged, the quality of service and facilities was unacceptable. I will not return or recommend this place to anyone.
I had very bad experience choosing to stay at tristar residency. Very poorly managed rooms with poor quality mattresses, geyser was not working. Asked for additional pillow and they gave the one which was very dirty and filthy. While check-in the receptionist was totally drunked it was not all welcoming. Very very pathetic think twice before choosing to stay here.
The rooms were contrary to what was on the website. This was one of the worst stays that I had in Chennai.Neither the amenities were good nor the attitude and behavior of staff/hosts. Dirty Bathrooms, accessories and bed linen. In fact you would not feel like even cleaning yourself in the washrooms or lying on the bed. Small congested suffocating rooms!. Bad Location. Worst possible experience
It is like a PG accommodation. Toilets were bad. Rooms were not maintained. Toilet smell in the room. I have booked for breakfast for 3 people and they said it will be available at 8.30 am. We had to leave at 7.30 and thus skipped the breakfast. When we asked for refund they said it is not possible from their side. No other facility and only rooms.
