One of the most sought-after residential neighborhoods in Chennai, Thiruvanmiyur is located about 15 km south of the city center. The very first information technology park in the city, namely TlDEL Park, is just a short distance away from the locality. This IT park contributed to the development of Thiruvanmiyur as a prime real estate hub and also a preferred location for business travelers. Tourist attractions like Marundeeswarar Temple, Kalakshetra Foundation, and Thiruvanmiyur Beach make it a favorite among the tourists as well. Consequently, the locality has some of the best budget hotels in Chennai that offer the best of amenities at affordable rates.
Some of the major shopping places in Thiruvanmiyur are located on Lattice Bridge Road (LB Road) and East Coast Road (ECR). Cotton House on LB Road is where you can shop for all kinds of garments while Odyssey on ECR has everything from books and toys to accessories & electronics. Though there are no shopping malls in the neighborhood, Phoenix Market City and Grand Square Mall in Velachery are about 6 km away and serve as hangout places for guests staying at hotels in Thiruvanmiyur, Chennai.
Foodies can have an amazing time at the South Indian and multi-cuisine restaurants in Thiruvanmiyur. Paradise Biriyani, Aasife and Brother Biriyani Center, TN 22 Biriyani, and Rehoboth Biriyani and Kebabs are havens for biryani lovers. If you prefer South Indian vegetarian delights, Bharani Veg, Paarambariyas Traditional Veg Restaurant, Skanda, and ALM Pranavam are the best options. Other popular eateries include Keys Café, Madras Coffee House, SAN Coffee Plus, Chick O Chick, and Chettinese, to name a few.
Marundeeswarar Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva is one of the top places to visit in Thiruvanmiyur. Lovers of art and culture can take a heritage walk through Kalakshetra Foundation, one of the prominent cultural centers in Chennai. Thiruvanmiyur Beach is an excellent place to spend some time with your family, especially in the evenings. Travelers staying at Thiruvanmiyur hotels can also visit nearby attractions in Chennai like Ashtalakshmi Temple (2 km), MGR Film City ( 3 km), Besant Nagar Beach (3 km), Guindy National Park (6 km), VGP Universal Kingdom (8 km), and Kapaleeswarar Temple (8 km), to name a few.
You can easily access hotels in Thiruvanmiyur from all parts of the city. The international airport in Chennai is about 16 km from the neighborhood and can be reached using prepaid taxis. Thiruvanmiyur has a MRTS railway station which is located close to TIDEL Park. You can board EMU trains from here to all major localities such as Chennai Central, Chennai Beach, Velachery, St. Thomas Mount, etc. The nearest major railhead is Chennai Central (14 km) which can be accessed using metro, taxis, and buses. There are regular MTC (Chennai) buses operating between Thiruvanmiyur and the rest of the city. The locality is also the starting point of East Coast Road (ECR), a state highway that connects it to Mahabalipuram, Pondicherry, and Kanyakumari.
Rooms are clean but there is smoking smell from neighbouring rooms. Located centrally in Royapettah
Its a surprise to note there are reviews with very low rating. i have stayed long back for quite a number of times though. 4 wheeler parking facility: a must not sure about the availability now. My updated review on Mathsya : Its a menace when the bottle necking of traffic happens in this busy road that too now being an one way and the main road for moving out of T.Nagar !! Hotel management has to take care of it, Have stayed in blossoms for quite some time and had food number of times. My favorite was oothappam with coconut chutney, by then.lol. Meals is typical udupi style ,you can try out. Overall with all the taste quality, value for money, customer handling ambience ,rating is above good. 4/5
Good for the price, not to expect more.
Construction happening inside the hotel so lots of noise. Room was okay, bed was comfortable but service could have been better.
Rooms are very small, and when I see room in online then very good size room but still I coming then very bad condition and location is not good for beach and not worth it for money
My stay at the Fab Hotel yesterday was extremely disappointing. The rooms were in a very bad condition—dirty, poorly maintained, and far below the basic standards I expected. This is honestly the worst room I have stayed in so far. The cleanliness, hygiene, and overall upkeep were unacceptable for a hotel claiming to offer quality service. I hope the management takes this seriously and improves the condition of the rooms immediately.. very horrifying rooms ever been .odd smells, liquid marks on bed .non responsive customer care dumps.
Worst rooms...damp and with moulds. Low ceiling, felt claustrophobic. The time we went some renovation was going on and we had to go to another property as they requested. Customer service is zero.
I am rating this poor for the poor customer support. They literally scam with customer's money. They show a different amount while booking and collect different amount and once we go for the stay having no time to look for other rooms, they don't even address the issue and refund the excess amount collected from the customers. Hotel people only expect us to stay by paying them directly where as the amount paid over website will have no consideration at all. Very poor customer support. They are literally money looters.
Worst experience had with fab hotel executive. Informed additional cot with discounted price and promised me that I can get it for the price. Where as Blossoms didn't accepted the discounted price and informed me that it is already known to fab hotels. When I called Fab hotel executive she spoke with Blossoms executive and later no response from them. My only concern is why to give fake promises.
