The staff were very professional and courteous. The rooms were clean and well-maintained, and the location was excellent.

Good rooms

The location of the hotel is quite good – not too much on the main road, yet not tucked away too far inside either. It’s just right if you’re looking for a stay near Acropolis Mall. The staff members are decent and well-behaved, and the room size and facilities are reasonable for the price point. The washrooms were clean, which was a relief. The room lighting, AC, and TV were also fine and functional. However, the major issue lies with cleanliness of the bedding. The bedsheets were not very clean, though somewhat manageable, but the blankets were in really bad condition with noticeable stains. When I asked the bellboy to change my blanket, he mentioned that even if he replaced it, the next one would likely be in a worse condition because they don’t have better blankets available. That is very concerning, because this is about the most basic hygiene standard a hotel must maintain. Not having coffee, tea, or breakfast services is something you can make peace with, but compromising on clean sheets and blankets is not acceptable. If the management addresses the hygiene issue seriously, the stay would be much more comfortable. Otherwise, it was a decent experience overall.

Overall rating: 1/5 stars We were thoroughly disappointed with our stay at Fabhotel Heritage Ruby in Kolkata from December 10th to 11th. We had traveled to the city to attend the Bryan Adams concert and were looking forward to exploring the city for a couple of days after that. Unfortunately, our hotel experience was a major letdown. The room allotted to us was a disaster. It was tiny, with damp walls and a general sense of neglect. The AC remote didn't work, and the window had no blinds, only flimsy curtains that offered little privacy. To make matters worse, the fan was non-functional. We felt like we were stuck in a dingy, poorly maintained box. Despite our repeated complaints, the hotel staff seemed completely uninterested in addressing our concerns. They sent someone to check the issues, but when they couldn't fix them, they simply shrugged it off and told us that the fan was "non-repairable." No offer to change our room or provide any alternative solution was made. The hotel's services were equally unimpressive. The reception area was chaotic, and the staff were slow and unhelpful. We waited for over 30 minutes to check in, and the staff seemed more interested in chatting with each other than attending to our needs. To add to our frustration, we paid around ₹1500 for a two-seater room for one night, which we thought was a reasonable price point. However, considering the subpar room quality, pathetic service, and overall dismal experience, we felt utterly cheated. The final insult was during checkout, when we asked the staff to hurry up, and they had the audacity to lecture us on time management. It was a stunning display of incompetence and customer indifference. Overall, our experience at Fabhotel Heritage Ruby was a disaster. We would not recommend this hotel to anyone and would advise others to avoid it at all costs. The hotel's management needs to take serious steps to address the issues with their rooms and services, or risk losing customers altogether.

1 Star – WORST Check-In Experience EVER | Highly Unprofessional & Intimidating Staff I had one of the worst hotel experiences of my life at FabHotel Lake Side View, Topsia between 9th to 13th July — and as a hotelier with over 25 years in the hospitality industry, I’ve never witnessed such unprofessionalism and outright rude, intimidating behavior. Despite having paid in full, well in advance, the front desk staff hesitated to hand over the room upon arrival at 9:00 PM — which is well past standard check-in time. Initially, we were given a room that was unclean and clearly not ready. After waiting for an entire hour, the counter staff admitted they had already allotted our confirmed room to someone else. I witnessed them repeatedly call the person occupying OUR room, asking them to vacate it ASAP. I reached out to the FAB Helpline twice, only to be met with a confusing and broken IVR system. Finally, a customer care executive assured me that our room was indeed confirmed and we only needed to collect the keys from the reception. She even called the hotel directly to confirm — only for the hotel staff to shamelessly deny the whole situation. When I confronted the staff, they suddenly handed me a different room key — something they could’ve done an hour earlier. But what followed next was completely unacceptable: The receptionist turned aggressive, warning me in a threatening tone, “This is Kolkata, you can do whatever you want. Jo ukhaadna hai ukhaad lo, koi farak nahi padta.” This kind of rowdy street-level intimidation is beyond disgraceful, especially in the hospitality industry. Shocking. Unprofessional. Unsafe. If this is the level of service and behavior FAB allows under its brand name, it seriously raises concerns about the quality control and accountability within their network. STAY AWAY from this hotel if you value your time, safety, and basic hospitality standards.

I had a very disappointing and harassing experience at this hotel. I booked my room one week in advance and completed the full online payment. But when I arrived, the hotel manager told me that no rooms were available. This was shocking and extremely unprofessional. Instead of giving me the room I paid for, they tried to send me to another building nearby. The alternative room was very dirty, very small, and completely unacceptable. After making me wait for almost one hour, they finally agreed to provide a room in the main hotel but only after forcing me to pay an extra 500. They did not give any proper reason for this extra charge. I had no choice but to pay because I was already stranded. This behavior is dishonest and feels like harassment of customers. Taking full payment in advance and then denying a proper room is completely unacceptable. I strongly do NOT recommend this hotel. Poor management, rude behavior, hidden charges, and very bad customer service.

Rooms were small but okay. Bedsheets were not cleaned and also those were torn bedsheets. There was no brackets to hang your clothes in the cupboards. There is no car parking available, you need to park the cars on the streets. The most horrible thing about this hotel is the staffs and management. The behaviour of the receptionists were very rude. I had booked two deluxe rooms and paid it online. When we reach there, one of the receptionist told us only one room is available so he can not give two deluxe rooms and asked us to upgrade to super deluxe room by paying extra 1000/- bucks. For which I obviously asked why I have to pay extra when the fault is from their end that two rooms were not available and suddenly one more receptionist came there and argued very aggressively and told us that he will give two deluxe rooms without AC and said he wouldn’t care what we do which without the AC even though we have already paid for the AC rooms. That was very rude and embarrassing as few other guests were sitting in the lobby and were looking at us. Then we agreed to pay extra for for one super deluxe room as we had no options left. Fun Fact : there is no difference between deluxe rooms and super deluxe rooms. I have stayed in a lot of hotels and home stays but never experienced such behaviour from hotel management. The only good thing about this hotel is the location.

I booked this hotel for 3 nights at OYO. After booking and paying the entire booking amount I personally called the hotel to reconfirm my booking. They acknowledged my booking. But, when I reached the hotel with all my luggage, they started saying that they can't offer a room at the OYO Price rate and asked double the booking amount in cash. When I refused they denied Check in and started behaving very rudely.(Especially a guy name Rajesh at the reception). I called OYO customer care but after keeping on hold for over 1 hour at last their final resolution was to simply refunding me the paid amount. They won't bother about the harassment and the mental agony faced by the guest. The hotel's modus operandi is- 1. Listing the hotel at the top page of OYO App at a very decent rate.Once guest arrive after a long tiring journey and with family and luggage, they will take advantage of the situation and seek additional amount from the guest. 2. They insist on paying the additional amount in cash so that they can evade the Tax. OYO should immediately delist such hotels from its app and also impose heavy fine for harassing the guest with unethical business practices. (If OYO need any material evidence I can provide the recordings of the conversations.)

First of all this was my worst staying experience in my life. I booked this hotel for 2 nights and I paid the whole amount through online. When I went for check in the receptionist told me I have to pay more. When I asked why, thn the receptionist told me which one I paid that amount very less. Total I paid 1454/- . After all the discounts. Receptionist hold my check in more than 1hr. She told me I have to pay more 1398/- other wise I cannot check in . When try to connect to FAB customer care I didnt get any solution. I showed the receptionist the price which one I paid in FabHotel app, still dont want to understand. After long wait when I dont have any options I paid extra 1398/-, because I was tied and I need rest. After that when I enter the room the room was very tiny and smell no good, bed linen was not clean properly also cockroach running around. For This kind of room seriously I paid too much. Its totally waste of my time and money. After this incident I never trust FabHotels .
