In first place i had reservation and had paid advance online!, on arrival at hotel you reception (mr.amit) refused to give me room as already they have allocated my room to someone else. i had to call you call center and i had to physically verify the register and to my surprise my room booked with my booking registration was allocated to someone else and your staff (mr.amit) refused to give me room even after showing my registration on my laptop, verified my mobile no. with him and also showed my aadhaar card as proof of identity, meantime your call center agent also tried to convince you staff at hotel, saying i have reservation and they can't make me wait.
i had to wait for more than 1.5hrs in late evening, i told your guys, as i have take early flight and worked through out day and was dam tried. still i was made to wait for more than 1.5hrs. this is terrible by any standards in service industry.
now, finally i was given a room on ground floor "g2"" the room had all problems to name as i understand the room was not in use for sometime.
1. the exhaust fan in wash room not working
2. tv / cable connection not working
3. hot water kettle was rusted inside
4. no tea/coffee sachets
5. no sanks / food at hotel (i am know diabetic) i was sweating and no food around, i had my insta food and i needed hotwater to mix and couldnot get even a single glass of hot water for another 1-2hrs. after, 2 hrs finally they gave me a hot water kettle to prepare something for myself. meantime there was not a single person from hotel to get something to eat??
6. no mobile signals in my room both for idea, jio
7. more than anything, the room was smelling very bad.
next day i was given a room in first floor, with new room new problems and issues, though the room was better than previous one.
1. the elevator (lift) door was not opening to first floor
2. again the tv / cablenet not working. i understood the hotel has not subscription fee for most of the set top boxes and there was no services.
3. horrible breakfast, cold stiff single piece of paratha and single piece of egg - it would have been decent if this breakfast was not provided, i felt very cheap to even ask with you guys and just left out for my meetings and breakfast outside.
just to some it up "terrible stay" and i think you guys need to refund my money if not additional compensation !!

We arrived at delhi airport quite late and were tired. it must have showed as although we are pretty seasoned travellers we were well and truly scammed. we had no reply from our booked hotel about the airport pick up we had asked for, so we got a local taxi to take us. we were driven for about 30 mins and then the driver got to a police road block. he said he would need to rake us to the tourist information centre to find put how to get through. he said thst the elections meant that a lot of the local roads were closed. the tourist information centre turned out to be a dodgey travel agent but although we had our suspicions we went along with him checking our hotel booking then showing us it was cancelled on the computer screen. he said a lot of hotels were cancelling bookings as they could get much more for the room because the elections were on. so the helpful travel agent then said we should not worry because his 'team' would find another room for a similar price. hence we were driven to the hotel marble arch after midnight local time.
it looked ok at first glance and we were weary and relieved to have a bed of any kind. it was mediocre at best with a grotty shower room, no air con, grey linen and a fridge that didn't work. the hotel website photos must be quite old because it is much more tired than they show.
the worst aspects of our brief stay were the very dirty table cloths and grubby chef on guard at breakfast. the breakfast was very limited and what there was not great. the noise of the local dogs and birds woke us up and although india is noisy it was challenging to stay asleep through it.
other reviews mention cockroaches which ww did not see but it is dirty, shabby and run down.
we moved to our booked hotel, the broadway' after ironing out the false cancellation which was great.
