Kochi, better known as Cochin, is one of the most beautiful coastal cities in India along the Arabian Sea. Boasting of a rich culture with influences of the Dutch, Portuguese and British, Kochi has a lot of historical places for tourists to explore – from beautiful churches like Malayattoor, Vallarpadam, and Santa Cruz Basilica to the famous Mattancherry Palace. Among other popular places to visit in Kochi are Cherai Beach, Kodanad Elephant Sanctuary, Kerala Folklore Museum, and Paradesi Synagogue.
There’s more to Kochi tour than just sightseeing. Watching the fishermen use Chinese Fishing Nets, attending a Kathakali performance, taking a leisurely evening stroll along Veeranpuzha Backwaters, and exploring the centuries-old Fort Kochi area are other popular things to do in the city. Shopping enthusiasts can head to Jew Town, MG Road, Lulu Mall or the famous Marine Drive promenade.
Also visit Kochi for its Malabar cuisine and native food including seafood, sambar and rice, papadum, beef curry and more served at a variety of local eateries and restaurants. Ifthar, Seagull and Kashi Art Café are ideal spots for a fine dining experience while street food can be savoured at Kayees Biryani or Rappai’s Thattinpuram. At night, head to Glow Discotheque to enjoy Kochi’s nightlife at its best.
