You must have read stories about Ali Baba and his 40 thieves in your childhood. Won’t it be fascinating to visit a hideout of one such gang? The incredible part is that this hideout is located inside a tree. Yes, you read that right! Hatiyan Jhad is a huge tree located inside the Naya Qila premises, about 1 km from the Golconda Fort. Its trunk measures about 25 meters in circumference and has a large hollow cavity that is big enough to fit 40 people. Legend has it that a band of 40 thieves used to hide inside this tree during the reign of the Qutub Shahi rulers. They used to come out at night to carry out their dishonest activities until one day they got caught. Even today, you can slide down the tree and explore the hollow cavity inside. Sounds like a fun thing to do with your little ones, right?
